I am a big fan of homemade face masks and homemade facial scrubs. I even make homemade facial masks for kids and my daughter and I have spa days at home! Homemade beauty products are an inexpensive and natural way to exfoliate, cleanse and moisturize your skin. So today, I wanted to share one of my new favorite recipes – my Homemade Strawberry and Honey Face Mask.
This homemade strawberry and honey face mask has a lot going for it! It’s super easy to make — taking only 2 minutes to prepare. It’s inexpensive – only containing two ingredients – and it lasts for a few days in the fridge. It also has some awesome benefits for your facial skin! Let’s see why:
Table of Contents
Strawberries
Recent studies have shown that strawberries may provide good photoprotection for your facial skin (source) – which means it may protect against damage from the sun (think wrinkles). Research has also shown strawberries have skin softening and moisturizing effects (source). There are many sources that say it also helps with skin brightening, but I couldn’t find any studies that document that, so that claim appears to be anecdotal.
Honey
Honey is a miracle when it comes to all things facial skin! It provides so many benefits for the skin, including moisturizing, softening, and tissue healing. It is also used to reduce and heal pimples, smooth out the facial skin, and as a cleansing agent (source).
I used organic honey I found at the store, but you can also use local honey, or if you want to really indulge, you can make this with Manuka honey.
When you combine strawberry and honey, you get a Strawberry & Facial Honey Mask that:
- Moisturizes Skin
- Exfoliates the Skin
- Cleanses the Skin
- May provide protection against sun exposure
That’s pretty amazing for only two ingredients in a facial mask! So, now that you know why you should be using this facial mask, here is how to make it!
Homemade Strawberry and Honey Face Mask
Ingredients
- 2 – 3 strawberries
- 2 tablespoons honey
To Make
Remove the stems from the strawberries and place in a bowl. Use a fork to mash the strawberries. Stir in honey.
To Use
Apply a layer to the facial skin – lay down for 15 – 20 minutes – and let dry. Turn on some good music or read a good book to pass the time! Once dry, take a wet cloth and gently wipe away.
Rub on a thin layer of olive oil or coconut oil onto the facial skin for an extra moisturizer, if needed.
Here’s a printable, if you want to share it with a friend or hang it on your fridge!

I may have to try this – but when my hubby is not home so he doesn’t freak out at seeing me covered in red all over my face – or it may be fun to see his reaction! LOL. It’s not surprising to see that something so healthy on the inside has external benefits, too.
